Due to the lockdown we are not able to offer in person classes for professional dancers. In order to support dancers we offer our professional training via Zoom and free of charge during this period!
To Participate registration with your CV at tanzplan2@kampnagel.de is required. Via this address you will receive confirmation and access to the Zoom approximately 15 minutes before the start of the training.
Registration is possible until 10 am on the respective training day, if spots are still available.
GYROKINESIS® is a practice based on circular movements connected with the rhythm of breath and balancing the symmetry in the body. It is a practice created by former ballet dancer Juliu Horvath, developed and cherished by his students. During the four days of training via Zoom the focus will be on strengthening the core in order to bring freedom into the movement.
For Maria Zimpel Gyrokinesis is a way to warm up and a way to keep renewing balance in the body. As a dancer and choreographer it suits her perfectly as a base for the body training. As a GYROKINESIS ® teacher she wants to share with others a practice that helps to enjoy an elegant, strong and graceful movement full of breath.
For the class a chair (stool), a mat (yoga mat is fine) and water is needed.
Maria Zimpel
Maria Zimpel choreographer, dance artist. In her work she is exploring the limits of physically. She is creating her own dance language and modular choreographic structures based on semi-repetitive movement patterns and embodied attention in movement. She is an author of many solo and collaborative projects, shown all around the world. As a dancer she worked with radical artists such as: Rosalind Crisp, Isabelle Schad, Kat Valastur. Studied Dance, Choreography and Context at HZT (Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz in Berlin) at University of the Arts (UdK), and Cultural Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań, Jagiellonian University Krakow, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. in 2009 she was a recipient of DanceWeb Scholarship; in 2016 her choreography noish~ was selected for the European Platform AerowavesTwenty, and Polish Dance Platform in 2017.
During the K3 residency 19/20, Maria combined the research in quantum physics and dance, exploring the idea of dance as an elementary force creating and transforming places. In her choreography Space Gives Place, the notion of place as a dance-based event was explored via dance, music, light and space design.
She is practicing GYROKINESIS® and teaches this method during the Profi Training at the K3.
