CONTEMPORARY AND IMPROVISATION

The training starts with exercises to concentrate on space awareness and body alignment. Floor work, release technique and short basic dance sequences are also used to move through the space. Participants will work physically and gently, with details and conscious perception of the movement, to question how momentum, strength and impulses are generated. This is supported by breathing exercises to bring more consciousness on how much energy is needed for a movement. Each class will revolve extensively around improvisation tools and individual movement research on concepts such as sauna waving, flow momentum and transforming impulses and poetic images.

Anca Huma

is born in Romania in 1980, and is a dancer and choreographer. She studied dance at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem in Holland and at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. Anca has worked as a guest dancer at the Staatstheater Kassel, for "Company Entre Pasos" (Essen), Ursina Tossi (Hamburg), Foteini Papadopoulou (Essen), Raymond Liew Jin Pin (Hamburg), SEE! Cologne and many more. She toured internationally for 3 years with the children's play "chalk about". She teaches amateurs and professionals.
