Simone C Niquille
*ALL THE FEELS* —
A lot is currently being invested in emotion recognition software for use in advertising, predictive policing or job interviews. This software uses sensors to scan facial expressions, voice or body posture to determine a person's emotional state. Simone C Niquille is interested in what data and artificial intelligence is taught to recognize human emotions and how emotions need to be categorized for this purpose.
The talk will take place as part of Gloria Höckner's K3 residency. Both ask how surveillance technologies affect the perception of bodies and question the supposed neutrality of these systems.
