OPEN REHEARSAL – MAI:COMPANY

MAI:COMPANY is opening its rehearsal doors and inviting you to discover its artistic creative process and become part of it. Together with the company members, we will explore questions of community, diversity and participation – and how movement, as a form of knowledge exchange, can help a company grow and welcome new people.

Patricia Carolin Mai

Patricia Carolin Mai is a dancer, choreographer and artistic director of MAI:COMPANY. She studied dance at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and performance studies at the University of Hamburg. Since 2015, she has been producing dance pieces at Kampnagel and K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, which have been performed internationally in countries including Belgium, France, Italy, Israel and Korea. Her artistic work in intergenerational and participatory contexts explores movement as a somatic and empowering practice and examines bodies in extreme states. Since 2019, she has been conducting research on soft skills in dance education as part of the EU project ‘Empowering Dance’ and works as a lecturer and mentor both in Germany and abroad. In 2025, she founded MAI:COMPANY – Hamburg’s first cross-generational dance company. From 2026 to 2028, she is deepening her work on community, participation and physical diversity with MAI:COMPANY as part of the City-State-Federal project ‘An Artistic Practice of Expansion’.
