Dance Well | Venetsiana Kalampaliki
ANATOMY OF WORDS
I dreamed of bodies moving words, of unsettling definitions, of language permeating the fluid physicalities of becoming together.
Anatomy of Words is a choreographic exploration of everyday gestures, inviting the audience to expand their perception of the familiar. Kicking, pushing, pulling, turning, jumping, falling. These words form the basis of the work, which combines movement, music, and text. For this project, choreographer Venetsiana Kalampaliki is collaborating with dancers from Dance Well Klub—a dance club for people with and without Parkinson's disease. The piece deals with how we see and hear through dance and explores the poetics of audio description and the materiality of subtitles.

Dance Well
Dance Well was created at K3 in 2022 as part of a unique EU-wide practical and research project focusing on dance and Parkinson's disease. With scientific support from Fondazione Fitzcarraldo and Fondazione Università Ca' Foscarin, six European dance centers introduced dance programs for people with and without Parkinson's disease, which will run until 2025. K3 established a weekly club and open monthly dance classes, which will continue. In January 2025, participants from the club had the opportunity to take part in a stage production (Yolanda Morales Rhythm of Our Lives) for the first time.
Venetsiana Kalampaliki
works in the performing arts field as a dancer and choreographer based between Hamburg and Athens.
