As part of Nova, Benson will introduce participants to the world of Krump. At this class the basic movements and steps that form the foundation of Krump will be introduced. Participants learn to use their strength in a targeted manner and to optimise the use of their body to perform the dynamic movements. During the course of the class, small battles and sessions take place where participants can experience the unique atmosphere of Krump up close. These interactive elements not only promote a sense of community, but also help to apply the techniques learnt in the class in an authentic environment. At the end of the week, a choreography is created that combines the newly acquired skills and the individual expression of the participants.

Benson A'kuyie

is a versatile artist as a singer, dancer and performer, is inspired by the Krump dance style. This characterises his artistic work, which explores themes such as Afrofuturism, queerness, spirituality and magic. Through his unique dance style, BENSON transports his environment into a spiritual dimension. Under BENSON's direction, the performative-artistic dance short film Shaman premiered in February 2021. As part of the QueerBCademy festival at Kampnagel, the video dance performance ((((BECOMING))((UNBECOMING)))) was created in 2021, which deals with topics such as identity in a heteronormative world. In June 2023, BENSON's solo performance SanctuarYIE premiered at the A Wa Nibi festival at Kampnagel, inviting the audience into a meditative world.
