Sarah Gordon Butler
IMAGINATION, IMPROVISATION & REPERTOIRE
A one-time accreditation is required for participation in the professional training. The Accreditation allows you to purchase tickets for the professional training. Click here for the conditions of participation.
This training touches on both improvised movement and choreography. It begins with guided improvisation to awaken creative impulses, awareness, and presence in space. Ballet forms and various set exercises are visited in order to amplify creativity inside codified structures and technique. In parts, participants are invited to play with shifts of weight, isolations, musicality and imagination to investigate how one’s personal approach can amplify and improve the material while maintaining the integrity of the choreography.
