CONTEMPORARY TECHNIQUE

The class focuses on technique and performance of movement. Simple exercises are used to train how to approach the floor with safety and speed, to move with speed and agility simultaneously, and to cover as much space as possible using our full potential. Participants also work with complex sequencing and choreography to focus on intention and performativity of movement. In this training both individuality and teamwork are taken into consideration. The main goal is to open senses, to communicate through movement, and to gain more satisfaction through dancing.

Christina Mertzani

Christina Mertzani is a choreographer, dancer and teacher. Since graduating from the Athens State School of Dance in 2004, she has been working internationally for different companies, theaters, festivals, universities and dance studios. Christina co-directed the "One Small Step" International Contemporary Dance Festival in Corfu (GR) for 9 years.
