This class focuses on finding ways to connect movements while releasing unnecessary force. This leads to the importance of the space in between. Movements are connected by efficient suspensions: moments in which force is released and redirected into both internal and external space. Participants will practice the ways the interplay of various forces produces acrobatic motions and suspension. The concept of multi-centrality will be investigated in connection to floor work.

Yuya Fujinami

studied dance and gymnastics in Saitama, Japan before graduating from the John Neumeier Ballet School in Hamburg. After graduation, he worked with Theater Chemnitz, Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, and Staatstheater Braunschweig. Yuya makes his own choreographic projects. At the 9th International SoloDuo Festival, he won the "Audience Award Duo" for "memini," his first collaboration with Emmanouela Dolianiti.
