Saïdo Lehlouh: Core: Jerson Diasonama + Kaê Brown Carvalho

After their first encounter in the sound and dance exuberance EARTHBOUND by Saïdo Lehlouh and Johanna Faye, the dancers Jerson Diasonama and Kaê Brown Carvalho meet again with great sensibility in their first joint work. Both artists embody a hybrid style that combines elements of hip hop and contemporary dance with a great openness to other cultures and influences. JOGO DE DENTRO is a playful exploration of the global dimension of Afro-diasporic heritage. Inspired by Capoeira, the martial art disguised as dance, which was passed on by enslaved people from Angola in Brazil, they let this Afro-Brazilian dance converge with techniques from popping or breaking to enter into an intense dialogue in this intimate performance exploring personal and collective cultural heritage.
