The Bottom Up Dance School (BUDS for short) is a further education and training program for 6-8 professional dancers and choreographers of all styles who are at the beginning of their career. BUDS is aimed at people who want to critically reflect on their dance practice, get to know new styles, and are interested in exploring what dance education should consist of. To achieve this, basic dance techniques and concepts/theories are taught - by the participants themselves on a peer-to-peer basis and by experienced choreographers. All participants are accompanied by mentors of their own choice in order to work out their artistic goals and their own profile. BUDS is a 6-month part-time program that can be completed alongside other professional or family commitments, among others. For this, core working hours are planned from approx. 12pm to 4pm, which are then supplemented by individual training and workshop visits. The participants will have access to our own rehearsal studio at Kampnagel for the entire duration, which is where an open show can be organized once a month for example. BUDS will end with a final presentation as part of the Fokus Tanz festival at Kampnagel in February 2025.
