On October 12, Patricia Carolin Mai celebrates the start of rehearsals. For her new dance production Rausch. Eine Revision she is looking for people interested in dance, with or without dance experience, from all generations, from different life and work contexts. People who want to move their bodies in dance, with or without disabilities. Together with 100 people she would like to investigate the states, the causes and the dimensions of flush and ecstasy:
Is flush a myth, an illusion, the faint hope of being pulled into unknown orbits? What worlds are we talking about?

Patricia Carolin Mai

Patricia Carolin Mai is a dancer, choreographer and artistic director of MAI:COMPANY. She studied dance at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and performance studies at the University of Hamburg. Since 2015, she has been producing dance pieces at Kampnagel and K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, which have been performed internationally in countries including Belgium, France, Italy, Israel and Korea. Her artistic work in intergenerational and participatory contexts explores movement as a somatic and empowering practice and examines bodies in extreme states. Since 2019, she has been conducting research on soft skills in dance education as part of the EU project ‘Empowering Dance’ and works as a lecturer and mentor both in Germany and abroad. In 2025, she founded MAI:COMPANY – Hamburg’s first cross-generational dance company. From 2026 to 2028, she is deepening her work on community, participation and physical diversity with MAI:COMPANY as part of the City-State-Federal project ‘An Artistic Practice of Expansion’.
