Regina Rossi
DANCE MACHINES (11+)
In Dance Machines, Brazilian choreographer Regina Rossi brings together virtual, analogue and auditory worlds. After intensive research with students from Hamburg, Rossi's artistic team designed a futuristic dance lesson that the audience experiences with their own bodies via VR glasses and headphones: Galactic-utopian avatars of two professional dancers meet the audience in a virtual dance studio. They provide movement impulses, ask questions and guide through dance steps and choreographies. Dance Machines plays with the perception of body and movement through different media, and explores virtual space as a place for dance. In the process, new ways of teaching dance to young and old are explored.
