Round Table

Teresa Hoffmann

DANCE WITH SCHOOL

The Round Table Dance with School has resumed meeting on a regular basis as a part of the new project explore dance – Dance for Young Audiences Network, providing interested teachers, as well as (dance-) pedagogues with the chance for exchange and discussions about dance for young audiences. In addition to every meeting revolving around a specific, alternating topic, the Round Table also offers exclusive visits to rehearsals and conversations with artists. The Round Table aims to develop ideas together on how to sustainably embed dance in schools.

Our guest this time is Hamburg choreographer Teresa Hoffmann, who has just begun rehearsing her piece re-member (AT). Hoffmann invites us to get to know her research approach through choreographic and playful exercises and to physically experience how we perceive interpersonal boundaries and community together. She is developing her piece re-member for people age 10 and older with an intergenerational team on the topics of physical restraints and fear.

For teachers and (dance-)pedagogues
Pedagogues are welcome to bring their (own) children.

A certificate of attendance (training confirmation) is issued at the end of the event.

Registration until February 07th at: tanzplan2@kampnagel.de

Teresa Hoffmann

first studied psychology in Würzburg and New York, then performance studies in Hamburg. She works as a dancer, choreographer and dance mediator. Since 2016, she has mainly focussed on producing dance pieces for and sometimes with young people. For her, the relationship and difference between the worlds of adults and children is paradigmatic of her interest in being confronted with ways of thinking, moving and feeling that she has forgotten or forgotten as an adult. The encounter of strangers of different ages and abilities is a mirror for the fine threads that connect them and for the creative power that lies hidden in these unusual connections.
