WORKSHOP WEEK FOR CHILDREN FROM 9 YEARS OLD
GROOVING NATURE – EIN FERIENCAMP
What is the rhythm of an exploding volcano? How do stones roll into a river and what kind of music does it produce? Can you hear the melody of a growing plant?
At the artistic autumn holiday camp Grooving Nature, you can use your body to explore how nature grows, decays, fights or gives up, how plants and beings are born, pass away and die. You will be exploring the masterpiece The Rite of Spring (Le Sacre du Printemps) by composer Igor Stravinsky, who himself said that it describes the resurrection of nature. Together with choreographer Josep Caballero García and music pedagogue Christoph Stange, you will carefully examine the music and develop creative movements for processes of emergence and resurrection. This will then grow into a dance piece, which will be presented on stage at the end of the camp.
During the camp, we are also planning to attend a rehearsal of the Cleveland Orchestra (Le Sacre du Printemps) at the Elbphilharmonie.
Open for all 9 to 14 year olds | no prior experience needed
