Workshop

BUILDING TOGETHER THE OLYMPIC GAMES
In the context of research for their next piece, The Olympic Games, the choreographers Marco D’Agostin und Chiara Bersani would like to enter into a dialogue with interested audience members in a series of workshops and discussions on the subject of the Olympic Games and European/national identity.
After the focus of the first workshop was placed on the Olympic Games’ opening ceremonies, the second on competitions, now the closing ceremony will be examined: how you find an end and bring all together? After a discussion of personal memories and experience in sports, specific verbal and physical sport vocabulary will be used to alter it and establish unexpected relationships.
Chiara Bersani works in the field of visual and performance art. As a performer, she has worked e.g. with Alessandro Sciarroni, Jérôme Bel and Riccardo Buscarini. Due to a moderately severe form of osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle-bone syndrome, she is interested in the political significance of bodies.
Marco D’Agostin is active in the fields of dance, theater and film. As a dancer and performer, he has worked with Alessandro Sciarroni, Tabea Martin and Giorgia Nardin. Since 2010, he has been developing his own works; they tour internationally. Viola (2010) and Everything is ok (2015) were selected for the Aerowaves’ "Priority Companies" list in 2011 and 2016.
