WE DON'T NEED NO EDUCATION? - THINKTANK & PANEL
After the final presentations and graduation of the last students from the Performance Studies Master's programme in June 2022 and the subsequent elimination of the programme, Hamburg will lose an essential building block in its independent performing arts education. What does this mean for the future of working with young artists? Representatives of Hamburg's educational institutions, theatres, funding bodies and artists from the scene will come together in a think tank to discuss the future of new generations of artists. This will be followed by a public panel with a keynote speech giving an overview of important local artists, their careers and the conditions that have made it possible for them to establish themselves in Hamburg. In the subsequent panel, representatives of Hamburg's educational institutions, theatres and funding bodies will take a closer look at the scene and shed light on the (un)favourable conditions for up-and-coming artists.
