WHEN WE WERE RESEARCHING IT TOGEHTER

Between 2011 and 2018, two post-graduate programmes in Hamburg – Assembly & Participation and Performing Citizenship – jointly organised by Fundus Theater, HafenCity University and K3, developed a specific, hitherto internationally unheard of approach to artistic and academic research. The doctoral theses covered a range of artistic-academic and participatory research.
The current two-year research project Participatory Art-based Research and Knowledge Production seeks to compile and evaluate the methods and formats developed over the last years. First results will be presented at the upcoming conference in April featuring members of all three programmes, as well as international guests. Irit Rogoff (UK) and Marijke Hoogenboom (Netherlands | Switzerland) have been invited as keynote speakers for the opening event on 16 April.
