This class is structured as a Ballet class, warming up and going through each body parts for the first quarter of the class before moving across the floor and jump towards the end. The movements and the physicality is completely different to Ballet. Coordination, details in the arms and fingers, rhythm , placement and stamina are all part and main aspects of the class. Being versatile is key, the class will bring you in different worlds such as release, urban influences, isolation, with a choreographic aspect and a huge attention to phrasing and details. The last quarter of the class will be a way to learn some repertoire of Jason Mabana Dance making works for BalletBoyz, Black Box Dance Company, Conny Janssen Danst and others.

is a Belgian choreographer based in London. He trained at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. As a dancer, Jason worked for Akram Khan Company, Shobana Jeyasingh, Wayne McGregor and Candoco Dance Company. As a choreographer, Jason choreographed ‘Requiem For Aleppo’ which premiered at Sadler’s Wells and has been nominated for The Asian Arts Awards and the Amnesty International Freedom of Speech Awards. He made works for Black Box Dance Company in Denmark, Balettakademien in Sweden, The University Of The Arts in Amsterdam, Rambert School, BalletBoyz, Stella McCartney, and has been recently chosen as an emerging choreographer for Springboard Festival in Montreal.
