CONDUCT MY DANCE | TOUCHER
This time, the K3 Youth Club present a double bill at the crossroads of dance and music. Together with choreographers Friederike Lampert and Jenny Beyer, the teens will work on basic structures and movement patterns of conducting, as well as on encounters between music and dance.
In Conduct My Dance, the K3 Youth Club presents three choreo-graphic variations of the well-known suite from Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg. Through the exploration of basic music structures, conductor’s gestures and choric elements, choreographer Friederike Lampert and musician Rami Olsen will compose a moving and vocal “dance orchestra” together with the teens.
In Toucher, the teens will deal with the touching and expressive effect of music on dance together with Hamburg choreographer Jenny Beyer and will base their choreography on piano pieces by Frédéric Chopin. The teenage performers dance with the music, but also to it, against it, before or after it. They confront the pathos of classical music with the desire to commit oneself to listening and dancing to it and to create a fragile coexistence of listening and movement. How do you hear music if you see it and why does it move dance so much?
