Simone Juul Wennerberg | Virginia "Aura" Lewerissa
SPRING BREAK RESIDENCY
The Spring Break Residency is a new format for young choreographers, inviting them to spend the spring in K3's studios to spark new ideas. After two weeks of rehearsals, they present the results of the short residency in a show. Simone Juul Wennerberg is a Danish-Norwegian dance and performance artist and graduate of the Contemporary Dance School Hamburg. She explores people who are "on the grind" - physically and emotionally hard working bodies - and wants to reclaim that body as a space for pleasure, autonomy and care. During the residency, she is working in collaboration with composer Jonas Kongpetsak Pedersen and co-choreographer/performer Elle Burgess. Virginia "Aura" Lewerissa is a Krump dancer from Hamburg with Indonesian roots. Her dance is characterized by honesty and emotionality. For the residency, she will explore experiences of loneliness and exclusion.
