CALL FOR APPLICATION: EXCHANGE PROGRAMME WITH NAVE

K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg and NAVE in Santiago de Chile are offering an international residency exchange from June to November 2025. In this scope, K3 is looking for a choreographer to take part in the exchange.
In a series of online and face-to-face meetings, a choreographer from Chile and a choreographer working in Hamburg will accompany each other in their work processes on a research project and engage in a peer-to-peer exchange. This includes a three to four-week residency at NAVE in Santiago de Chile for the Hamburg-based artist in the timeframe of 22 September to 17 October 2025.

From June to November, the selected choreographers exchange and share their individual work online and on site. Therefore, a series of online encounters scheduled early in the process will serve to determine common areas of interest and lay a foundation of trust for the program’s duration. While a Chilean choreographer will work at K3 in the month of August 2025, NAVE will host a choreographer from Hamburg to be in Santiago de Chile. NAVE will provide a studio for three to four weeks (depending on the availability of selected choreographer) and accommodation within the centre. Additionally, they will support the research of the choreographer and facilitate workshops or sharing sessions if the choreographer wishes to do so.

K3 is looking for a choreographer to take part in the exchange. The choreographer should be based in Hamburg. The choreographer should have experience of leading several professional dance projects as a choreographer. They should work on their individual project during the exchange but should be willing to share their practice and outcomes with the other choreographers and the public. Please bear in mind the language barrier when planning encounters and sharing situations during the residency at NAVE, as English is not widely spoken in Chile.

Details of the exchange:

  1. June and July 2025: First online meetings with institutions and between the two choreographers before the actual exchange on site, to introduce all participants, identify common interests, and determine schedules.
  2. August 2025 (4 weeks): The choreographer from Chile is in Hamburg. The choreographer from Hamburg should ideally be available during that time for some meetings.
  3. On site exchange timeframe of 22 September to 17 October 2025 (3-4 weeks): The choreographer from Hamburg visits Santiago de Chile. NAVE will provide a studio for that time.
  4. November 2025: review meeting (online) with all participants to evaluate results.

Financial details:
K3 will pay for a return flight from Hamburg to Santiago de Chile and will support the choreographer with a scholarship of 600 Euro per week of the stay in Chile.

Application details:
Applications should be in English and contain: Project description including motivation for the exchange (max. 1 page), portfolio/description of your work, CV, up to 5 video links to previous works.
Applications initially go to K3 before the final decision will be taken jointly by K3 and NAVE.
