Within a clear structure ending in a movement combination that articulates outwards into the space, this counter technique training prepares the body for subsequent rehearsals, performances or simply helps to get ready for the day. The body is explored with a mixture of practical information, defined exercises and a few improvisation tasks. At the end of each class, awareness for the connections between physical and cognitive processes will have improved – leaving participants feeling both strong and flexible. In every class, we will work on a new tool from the counter technique toolbox together and then apply it in practical exercises. The goal is to teach dancers to be able to apply the information independently and thus take something with them from every class.
