GATHERING AND IGNORING: ARTISTIC RESEARCH IN DANCE

When working choreographically with children and teenagers, artistic research can develop considerable potential. Research with artistic means aims towards getting to the bottom of things without a specific goal in mind. It is all about acquiring knowledge in action and to engage in an open process, as well as allowing inherent knowledge resources to come to light. Shared research is thereby based on individual processes of appropriation: every individual is accepted as an expert of his or her own knowledge, which is used as a motor for motivation, curiosity and the ability to tolerate uncertainties.
